Schema is a composition that focuses on the montage of visual, textual and sonic information. Schema is derived from artistic images and ideas that the author has previously explored in the context of theatre, but this time the form is separated from the physical performative body. The visual material deals mainly with temporal and historical material, both in the context of the general cultural history and the author's own creative archive. Technically and compositionally, the possibilities for the application of diegetic and non-diegetic sound and text in visual narrative play an important role. Schema is a creative project that is part of the author's artistic research (PhD) in the Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre, where his focus is on the compositional tools of a sound artist and designer in performing arts.

The performance is followed by an artist talk with Karl Saks.

Karl Saks Karl Saks works at the University of Tartu Viljandi Culture Academy as a lecturer of dance technique and composition as well as does his PhD in the Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre.
