24 February 2023: one year since russia started a full-scale invasion of Ukraine.
24 February 2023: 105 years since the proclamation of Estonian independence from, among others, russian empire.
This coincidence seems symbolic, first and foremost, because on the same day russia started a war that it had already lost long ago.
In celebration of Estonian Independence we want to support Ukrainian army and people who defend not only their own home but the very notion of freedom.

We invite you to our studio in Tallinn OR to our virtual space at elektron.art around the globe to celebrate freedom and raise funds for Ukraine.

Program:
19:00 (EET) Talk with Jevgeni Ossinovski on Freedom
Screening of the latest documentary by Freefilmers, a film collective from Mariupol, “My favorite job” (2022, Sashko Protyah): In the spring of 2022, the Ukrainian city of Mariupol was surrounded by Russian troops. They were using the weapons of mass destruction against the civilian population every day. In mid-March volunteers started evacuating people from Mariupol to Zaporizhzhya. They gathered after each trip to exchange the information, support each other, and talk about their traumatic experiences.
After the film we talk with crisis therapist Eva Näf

100% from the tickets’ sales will go to the Freefilmers collective who organise provision and transport of humanitarian aid, medical supplies, electronic equipment and survival tools to the regions most affected by war. More about the collective: https://help-freefilmers.network/
